En muchas ocasiones quedan residuos de módulos que hemos instalado previamente pero que hemos eliminado sin desinstalar (incorrectamente) dejando su huella en la base de datos.
Esta misma situación se presenta continuamente cuando actualizamos un prestashop de una versión antigua a la actual y cambiamos de plantilla y muchos módulos que se utilizanban antiguamente siguen como residuos en la base de datos. Este módulo sirve para eliminar esos residuos en base de datos además de permitirte optimizar el directorio de módulos fácilmente.
Este módulo también puede ser considerado cuando los servicios de alojamiento nos limitan el espacio de alojamiento en megas o gigas tanto en base de datos y archivos. Se puede realizar una limpieza del directorio de módulos y de la base de datos des de la administración de la tienda.
