Featured categories new version 2.2.7

New version of the featured categories module in the home page in which we have added more functions in the configuration of the module to make it more complete and adapt to more possibilities.

In this version, the author of this module has been updated and now belongs to the company JA Modules.

We have added icons in the tabs that appear in the module configuration to represent:

• The management of featured categories.
• The configuration.
• The information and contact block.

We have added new features or functions in the configuration. Now the administrator can select the position or hook to display the featured categories.

In PrestaShop 1.7 there are 6 different positions available to show the featured categories:

• Content section (above). In a default template, it is shown in the top part, fitting to the main container in all the pages of the shop. Technical name: displayContentWrapperTop.
• Main content section (above). In a default template, it is shown in the upper part, adjusting to the full width of the page in all the pages of the shop. Technical name: displayWrapperTop.
• Bottom of the page. In a default template, it is displayed in the footer visible on all the pages of your store. Technical name: displayFooter.
• Section after the footer. In a default template, it is displayed just after the visible footer on all pages of your store. Technical name: displayFooterBefore.
• Main content section (below). In a default template, it is shown in the lower part, fitting to the main container in all the pages of the store. Technical name: displayWrapperBottom.
• Content of the main page. Visible only on the main page. Technical name: displayHome.

In PrestaShop 1.6 there are 4 different positions available to show the featured categories:

• Navigation. In a default template, it is shown in the navigation section of the top part visible on all the pages of your store. Technical name: displayNav.
• Top content. In a default template, it is shown in the upper section visible on all the pages of your store. Technical name: displayTopColumn.
• Main page tab. In a default template, it is displayed as one more tab on the main page of your shop in the same way as new products, popular products, best sellers and special promotions. Technical name: displayHomeTabContent.
• Content of the main page. Visible only on the main page. Technical name: displayHome.

Now the administrator can indicate the number of columns to show the featured categories in small, medium and large devices.

The improvements that we have added are related to the display of the block of featured categories in your shop. The technology that this module uses is Bootstrap 3.0 or higher. If your theme uses another type of technology it will be necessary to adapt this module to the characteristics of your active theme.
